Corriere dello Sport have reflected on Walter Sabatini’s short tenure as technical coordinator for Suning’s clubs, Inter and Jiangsu Suning.
“Sabatini’s farewell to the Suning galaxy is the result of different visions on how to carry out the project. He started well, directing Luciano Spalletti’s arrival at Inter and Fabio Capello’s in China with Jiangsu. In the purchase of the players [at Inter], however, he did not leave his mark because the Nanjing group could not spend, blocked by Inter’s financial fair play and the foreign spending limitations imposed by the Chinese government.”
The Roman paper also gave another reason as to why Sabatini may have decided to terminate his contract early.
“They [Suning] took too many steps necessary to reach a decision for his liking as he was used to acting quickly and did not like this.”
They have also looked at what Sabatini’s departure means for the Nerazzurri.
“Officially nothing because Sabatini was a Suning man who was at Appiano and San Siro very little. There will certianly be more clarity in the Nerazzurri technical area because, in spite of good relations, the Ausilio-Sabatini collaboration was forced.”
