Tuttosport believe that after a few rough months, Ivan Perisic and Marcelo Brozovic are both back to their best.
Perisic started the season in blistering form but went over four months without scoring or assisting between his hat trick against Chievo Verona on December 3rd and his goal and assist in the 5-0 rout of Sampdoria on March 18th. Brozovic on the other hand fell out with fans but has found form in a new deeper role in the midfield alongside Roberto Gagliardini.
Perisic has nine goals and nine assists in 30 games in all competitions while Brozovic has three goals and five assists in 25 games this season.
Corriere dello Sport have also pointed out that the Perisic-Icardi partnership is back also as a result of the winger’s recent upturn in form. Before his assist to Icardi on Saturday against Hellas Verona, Perisic had failed to do so since November 25 against Cagliari.
Since arriving at Inter, no other player has assisted Icardi more than Perisic, who has 15 assists to Icardi alone, six more than the next player.
Perisic and Icardi are also tied second with Juventus’ Paulo Dybala and Gonzalo Higuain for goals scored between them this season with 33. Lazio’s Ciro Immobile and Sergej Milinkovic-Savic meanwhile lead the way with 35 goals between them.
