As the Milan derby approaches, FcInterNews look ahead to the future of Inter. Two players are not yet certain whether or not they will stay at Inter or return to the clubs that own them, namely Rafinha and Joao Cancelo.
However, both players seem to be showing signs that they would in fact like to stay with the club as they spend more and more time in Milano according to the report. Rafinha has expressed his desire to stay through means of social media posts and Inter will have to pay € 35 million in order to keep him at the Nerazzurri. That number can change if Rafinha decided he wanted to stay at Inter and Barcelona were willing to renegotiate.
Joao Cancelo is in the same boat as Rafinha, who also has a €35 million redemption clause with Valencia. The advantage of this deal will be the inclusion of Geoffrey Kondogbia who is also enjoying his time out on loan, away from Inter. Joao Cancelo was on the verge of leaving Inter due to lack of play time, but since given a chance in January, he has solidified his spot in the starting eleven.
Spalletti himself ackowledged the change in trend of playing time: “I think he is very happy with all the components that are at Inter, the city, the type of team. He came as an almost dismembered player, now he has integrated well, everyone applauds his quality, I think his family is happy too, we can see that he is very happy .”
Based on what Spalletti has stated but also the attitude on the pitch shown by the Portuguese full-back, it is easier to think of a redemption even if Inter, as with Barcelona, could ask Valencia to re-discuss the financial agreements to pay less than originally agreed.
