According to a report in Italian media outlet Sky Sport, there are currently no meetings scheduled between the Nerazzurri directors and Mauro Icardi’s entourage to discuss a possible contract extension.

The renewal of the Inter captain’s contract is not a pressing question for the Nerazzurri, at least not for the time being. According to the report, a meeting could instead take place at the end of the season where the player’s salary as well as the size of the redemption clause will be revisited.

Mauro Icardi is looking to add to his 24 goal tally this weekend as he continues to battle with Lazio’s Ciro Immobile for the 2017/2018 Serie A season’s ‘Capocannoniere’ title. Meanwhile Inter are looking to take another step towards securing a place in next season’s Champions League when they visit the Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino, to face off against Torino, coached by former Napoli and Nerazzurri coach Walter Mazzarri on Sunday, with kick-off scheduled for 12.30 CET.
