In an interview with Radio Late 93.1, Racing Avellanada President Victor Blanco, once again confirmed the transfer of Lautaro Martinez to Inter.

Blanco stated that “As far as Racing is concerned everything has been settled with the Nerazzurri. The player’s decision was to go to Spain or Italy. Lautaro has always behaved well towards us and we gave him the right to choose, despite Borussia Dortmund’s offer.”

According to reports, Borussia Dortmund made an offer of around €40 million, but were too late to the party as Interhad already secured an agreement with the Argentinean striker and his club, Racing Avellaneda.

Blanco also took advantage of the opportunity to take stock of the player’s physical condition: “Nobody doubts his physical condition; Jorge Sampaoli has had him available for ten days and then he has seen him many times for us at Racing.”

In conclusion Blanco stated that Racing made a wise decision to turn down Atletico’s €12.75 million bid for Martinez back in December. Martinez contract with Racing runs until the end of June 2020 but the 20 year old is expected to leave the South American outfit in June to join the Nerazzurri.
