Rome based newspaper Corriere dello Sport reports that Inter captain Mauro Icardi wants to make amends for the mistakes he made in the Derby della Madonnina against AC Milan today against Torino.

According to the report the Nerazzurri players are very aware that this season could be the season where they return back to the Champions League after 6 years of missing out on Europe’s top club competition. However, Champions League qualification will also be crucial to what happens in the transfer window this summer generally speaking but also specifically with regards to the future of Mauro Icardi.

The Corriere concluded that “it is difficult to see him leave Milano if Inter play in the most important competition in Europe. However, without Champions League football things could change, especially if a big club were to make an offer that would be impossible to turn down. Also with regards to a possible contract renewal, the latest news coming out is that these discussions will be concluded when the final verdict on the season has been defined.”
