Former Juventus and Italy striker Alessandro Del Piero discussed the race between Lazio, Inter and Roma for Champions League qualification.

“Lazio are under less pressure than Inter and Roma. Inter and Roma have more pressure due to the absence of other goals and as a result everything becomes heavier for them,” he told Sky Sports.

He proceeded to tip Lazio to take advantage of the situation.

“Lazio are in the Europa League and although not expected to win it, if they were to win, we would all be ready to say that they are really strong. They are very strong because they do not have any particular pressures. They can take advantage of this.”

As things stand, Lazio and Roma occupy 3rd and 4th place respectively and are tied on 60 points. Inter are in 5th, just a point shy of each with 59 to their name. With seven games remaining in Serie A, the race for the Champions League promises to go down to the wire and may even come down to the final day when Lazio play host to Inter.
