Following his sides 1-0 victory over Inter, Torino president Urbano Cairo briefly spoke to FCInterNews.it and firstly praised the work Suning have done since taking over in 2016.
“Put simply, they have done very well. They are serious people who have a wealth of resources and have already invested a lot into the club. They also made an excellent choice when they selected Luciano Spalletti to take charge of the team – he is a very good manager.”
Suning have come under fire lately from some fans but Cairo defended them and admitted he would be grateful for having them in charge if he was an Inter fan.
After everything Suning have done and the investments that they have made, I think it is incredible that they are still being questioned by the Inter fans. Football is not easy for anyone. It is not so simple that big investments automatically guarantee results on the field. Look at Juventus, in the years following their relegation to Serie B, their owners poured money into the club but saw no real success on the field. Suning have already invested serious money into the club and so, if I were an Inter fan, I would be grateful as it shows how committed they are to the team.”
