Inter coach Luciano Spalletti stopped by Premium Sport to share his thoughts on the impressive 4-0 win at home against Cagliari at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza in Milano’s San Siro district.

The former Roma manager began by saying that: “After having secured the win we transported the ball in the right rhythm, before that the right rhythm wasn’t there but in total we gave a good performance.”

What is your verdict on Karamoh? Can he become a top player?

“He is strong, he is one that can race past you and leave you behind. But from a finishing, balance and reasoning point of view he has the same connotations of a player that has great talent but can struggle to find his place in the team. He must not behave poorly, he should not have backheeled the ball, his teammates told him this and so did Castan but he will learn and grow from this. Karamoh has a double quality that he can play out on the wing but also between the lines, he loses simple balls from time to time and his finishing must improve.”

Spalletti was then asked about how big of a setback it is to lose Gagliardini to injury to which he replied: “We will miss Gagliardini, he gives us consistency also in temrs of number of balls. He works really well with Brozovic. He has never had any problems and it looked strange.”

In conclusion Spalletti stated that: “I don’t think Mauro Icardi is happy tonight and I think he agrees with me, although he did well. He needs to remember to stay inside the team, that way he is twice as useful for the team. He always complains about the goal and is always more inclined to go behind the defenders, but if he instead goes and is more involved in the pitch he becomes more unpredictable. Tonight he did really well from this point of view, I don’t think he is happy given the finishing and the chances created. He wants to take home all the humbers that can move us forward.”
