Despite other reports suggesting Bernard was set to join Besiktas, Turkish news outlet Futbol Arena report that he will not be joining the reigning Turkish champions due to the fact he has signed a pre-contract with Inter.

Inter have been working on the Brazilian, whose contract expires at the end of the season, for quite some time and it is understood that Inter stalled on the midfielder initially due to the excessive demands of his representatives.

The details of the pre-contract deal between the 25-year-old and the Nerazzurri are not known at present. Bernard has dual Spanish nationality, thus meaning he will not count against Inter’s non-EU quota for next season.

This season, Bernard has made a total of 29 appearances across all competitions for Ukrainian side Shakhtar Donetsk. He has found the net on 10 occasions and provided four assists during that time also.

Inter and Besiktas aside, Bernard also attracted interest from Premier League duo Liverpool and Chelsea.
