Inter’s Spanish midfielder Borja Valero was interviewed by Premium Sport after the Nerazzurri defeated Chievo away in the Serie A thanks to a goal each from Mauro Icardi and Ivan Perisic to seal a 2-1 victory.

The former Fiorentina midfielder began his analysis of the match by stating that: “It is a shame that we suffered in the end, we played a very serious match where we always did well. We suffered in the end and it should not have been like that.”

Valero was asked about his thoughts on what happened when Mauro Icardi scored the opener stating that: “I saw that the flag was raised, and the I think the whistle came when Mauro hit the ball, after having been examined by the VAR it was a goal. They explained to us in the beginning of the season that even if a whistle comes very close to the play, it can still be reviewed by the VAR. The I think the referee knows better than me. Now we have Juventus, it is a match to win to watch us get closer to our objective.”

“I have had physical problems, then my teammates have done really well so therefore it was only logical that I had to wait for my turn. Today we all did well” the Spaniard continued.

In conclusion Valero was asked about the remaining matches stating that: “All the remaining matches will be very difficult, we have Juventus and Lazio but we have to remain calm and look to win all the matches. I only care about seeing Inter in the Champions League, it would be beautiful and I am here also in the future. I have a contract here and I am not thinking about anything else.”
