In the lead-up to the Derby D’Italia, Antonio Candreva spoke to Premium Sport about the atmosphere in the team ahead of the match at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza in Milano’s San Siro district tonight with kick-off scheduled for 20.45 CET.

The former Lazio player stated that: “as Brozovic has been saying all week, we cannot wait to play this great game. For us, it is essential that we reach our goal of qualifying for the Champions League. We come up against a great opponent. Juventus have been the strongest team in Italy recently, and have always done well in Europe. We will face a team that is angry, but we must focus on ourselves and our goals. The team is confident and we are all working together. Unfortunately we find ourselves chasing fourth spot, so we know we cannot afford to slip up. Personally, I would give anything to win and achieve qualification.”

Speaking once again about his former side, the winger paid respect to the Bianconeri: “We know our opponents, and we know that every game comes with a history of its own. Juventus are a strong side and we cannot make mistakes. We have our own qualities, and we are ready to face them.”

The team will certainly will not be lacking support at the San Siro, as has been usual this season, and the Italian international expressed his gratitude to then fans: “The San Siro has been full all season. We must thank the fans that have supported us, and give them a win this week.”

Finally, Candreva was asked about the injury which has affected him recently: “I suffered an injury against Torino, and it has taken a long time to overcome. I am available and ready for Saturday night.”
