Ahead of tonight’s Derby D’Italia at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza in Milano’s San Siro district, Inter’s Portuguese international full-back Joao Cancelo spoke about the match with Inter TV.
The former Valencia full-back stated that: “We are expecting a difficult clash against a great team. We cannot ignore the big rivalry between the two sides, but we must win for ourselves. A win would give us another three points that would be fundamental for achieving our goal of qualifying for the Champions League.”
The Portuguese full-back, who is currently on loan from Valencia, went on to praise the fans who will fill the stands every week: “Playing at the San Siro in this type of game always brings about great emotion within us. As always, the fans will be there with us and they will help us to get the victory.”
After a slow start to his Inter career, the 23 year old has made the right-flank his own with a series of impressive performances for the Nerazzurri. The current loan deal with Valencia includes an option to buy set at approximately €35 million, and the club is reportedly very interested in securing the player for the future.
