Italian media outlet Sky Sports reports that Inter’s management visited the club’s training ground in Appiano Gentile yesterday morning to stay close to the players after the difficult 2-3 loss to Juventus at the San Siro.
According to the report Luciano Spalletti, Piero Ausilio and Giovanni Gardini arrived at 9am, despite training being set for 12pm. They reviewed the game together and, in particular, the performance of referee Daniele Orsato. The Nerazzurri management saw no issue with the dismissal of Matias Vecino, but were unhappy with the missed double booking of Miralem Pjanic, and the repeated aggression from Andrea Barzagli towards Inter captain Mauro Icardi.
Following wins by both Lazio and Roma, Inter find themselves four points behind the Champions League zone with only three matches to spare. There is an opportunity to gain three points in the final match against Lazio, but Inter will need to rely on another slip up by the Biancocelesti before then to have any chance to finishing in the top four.
