In what was a thrilling game for a neutral, Inter managed to go down a goal and a man in the first 20 minutes. Somehow they survived the first half and brought a storm out in the first 20 mins of the second half to go into the lead. Then after building up hope Luciano’s Spalletti men conceded 2 late goals to end their unbeaten run and possibly lose ground on 4th place.

Samir Handanovic – 5.5: Pulled of a couple of good saves. Should have done more on the first and the third goal. But let down by his team hugely.

Joao Cancelo – 5.5: Until about the 88th minute he didn’t make any major mistake. But conceding such a dangerous free kick will haunt him surely.

Milan Skriniar – 6: Rock solid in the first half and played as a midfielder till we went a goal ahead. Tiredness got the better of him toward the end.

Joao Miranda – 5.5: Miranda  was great until about the end of the game. Should have done more on Higuain’s goal. Absolute beast before that.

Danilo D’Ambrosio – 5.5: Didn’t venture forward in the first half but his runs were beneficial in the second. Great work till we got ahead. Battled till the end.

Matias Vecino – 4.5: Looked nervous in his 18 mins. Maybe his sending off was harsh but he never looked ready for a high stakes game.

Marcelo Brozovic – 6: Alone in defensive midfield and he gave more than what he had while going forward. He has grown by leaps and bounds.

Antonio Candreva – 5: For someone who is praised for his defensive work he was poor on Costa’s goal. Ran for 2 men after that and could have scored.

Rafinha – 6.5: Class is permanent. Rafinha’s the leader of every move on the pitch and its hard to believe he only joined in January. Fantastic.

Ivan Perisic – 6.5: Ran for 2 men tonight. Covered a lot of ground defensively and created a goal all by himself. Terrorized Cuadrado all night.

Mauro Icardi – 6.5: Mauro gave it his all. Ran all night and scored when given one decent chance. Should not have been taken off. Capitano.

Borja Valero – 5: Brought on to replace the tiring Rafinha but could not get involved at all. Inter were too deep in their own half. Didn’t get the ball.

Davide Santon – 4: The less said the better. If it was an in-experienced youngster, you could say he was caught cold as he had just come on.

Yann Karamoh – N/A: Should have started on form. Brought on just in hope of producing some magic. Barely got a touch of the ball.

Luciano Spalletti – 4.5: Absolute brilliant 20 minutes or so in the second half. Whatever he said worked. However, his subs were all wrong. Not for the first time either.

Daniele Orsato – 3.5: Had a shocker of a game. Gave too many cards. Failed to send off Barzagli and Pjanic for poor tackles. Should not referee Inter ever again.

Inter – 5: Inter almost did it in spite of playing against 2 extra Juventini. However Inter didn’t have the mentality needed to close the game out.

Why did Inter switch to a 5 man backline? Would you start Borja against Juve? When will Candreva score? Do you disagree with any of the ratings?
