Inter have been thrilled with the recent performances of Rafinha Alcantara, who has finally reached match fitness and has grown exponentially on the field. For this reason, the Nerazzurri are eager to renegotiate the Brazilian’s purchase fee with Barcelona in the coming days. As reported by El Mundo Deportivo, Inter’s Sporting Director Piero Ausilio intends to travel to Catalonia to personally meet with Barca’s Managing Director, Grascar Grau, and Football Director, Pep Segura.

Inter are eager to redeem the Brazilian midfielder. The club are satisfied with the manner in which the player has taken to the realities of Italian football and are acutely aware that Rafinha is one of the few great technical players currently available to Luciano Spalletti. At the same time, however, the Nerazzurri believe that the value of redemption (€35 million plus another €3 million in bonuses) is excessive.

Inter believe that, at the age of 25, he has an interesting career ahead of him but their financial situation does not allow them to undertake such a great investment. So, the goal for Ausilio is to lower the redemption fee as much as possible. The Spanish paper reports that Inter would only be able to pay an amount of between €18 and €20 million euros. If an agreement on a transfer fee could not be reached, Ausilio will also request that Rafinha’s loan could be extended for another season.
