Speaking to Tele Radio Stereo, Giovanni De Vito, the FIFA agent who is an expert on the Eastern European leagues, spoke highly of Filip Benkovic, the young central defender from Dinamo Zagreb who has been linked with Inter in recent days: “The player is being pursued by Inter, but Roma also appreciate the player. We cannot be sure if a move will occur, as the player suffered an injury recently and is now in doubt for the World Cup. Once he recovers, he will be ready for the Serie A.”
Despite his tender age the player is already a regular for his team, making 28 appearances and scoring four goals. Although he is yet to receive a call up to the senior Croatian side, he has 24 caps across different youth levels. Inter have a positive relationship with the Dinamo after the signings of Marcelo Brozovic and Mateo Kovacic, and will be hoping this gives them the edge over other interested parties.
