Roma have taken a leap to sign Bologna winger, Simone Verdi who has also been monitored by both Napoli, who were very close to signing him this last January, as well as Inter.

Premium Sport report that Roma have more than just an interest, as the clubs president, James Pallotta has already spoken to Bologna to try and sign the player, as well as  talking with his agent. The sales pitch has been the guarantee to play in Champions League which the agent and player are buying into.

Bologna has set a price of about €25-30 million. Verdi has been seen as an alternative for Inter in signing Fiorentina’s Federico Chiesa who seems to not be going anywhere this summer unless someone breaks the bank for him.

Verdi has expressed his appreciation of Inter and Spalletti but due to their current financial restrictions and possible lack of Champions League football, as it currently stands, it does not seem possible for a move for Inter if they plan to redeem Rafinha and Cancelo. A possibility could be to sell Icardi to raise funds for Verdi and other acquisitions along with Rafinha and Cancelo.
