Following on from his earlier interview on the sidelines at the Gentleman prize ceremony, Piero Ausilio spoke to the gathered media entirely on all the hot topics concerning the Nerazzurri.
He firstly spoke on the difficult of redeeming one of or both of Rafinha and Joao Cancelo.
“Nothing changes, the Champions League or the Europa League are things that are going to affect next season. The economic objectives to be achieved by 30 June are linked to financial fair play, to an agreement that was made with UEFA that does not depend on the Champions League. In life there are relationships, there are the possibilities and many situations that we will face from the end of the season.”
He then spoke on the futures of coveted duo Mauro Icardi and Milan Skriniar.
“For the good of Inter Icardi will remain. He will remain because we are happy that he is our captain. At the end of the season there is an opportunity to make some adjustments and extensions to his contract.
“Skriniar arrived last year and we have the shared idea of staying together for many years.”
Inter have come in to links with Atalanta youngster Musa Barrow in recent weeks and Ausilio confirmed Inter are following him.
“Inter is attentive to all talented young players in Italy and Europe. We have already demonstrated that last year by anticipating the market by signing Bastoni, which people today know will be crucial for the future of Inter. We signed Colidio and many others by anticipating the competition, then Barrow is showing off like so many others, but it does not mean anything except for the fact that we are following him.”
Ausilio concluded the interview by speaking about the Inter project.
“We have established stability in the club, because everything is starting from there and we are people who want to prove they are up to the task. There is a management that works, a great manager, good players and from there we have to start to build something. Starting not from a fourth place, but from something more. We try to build things beyond the result of one game or another. We have seen things that have worked, we know where to start from. It will be an even more motivated Inter to go higher and higher in the future.”
