Inter CEO Alessandro Antonello has insisted that Inter will do everything within their power to keep a hold of club captain Mauro Icardi amid ongoing rumours linking him with a move away from San Siro.

“We will do everything that’s right to keep our captain, he is a very important part of our club,” Antonello told RMC Sport.

Juventus have come in to links with the Argentine forward but Antonello called for everyone to remain calm amidst the rumours and admitted that there is a plan in place.

“Juventus? The season has just ended and we’re already talking about transfer rumours. We need to remain calm, we have our plans.”

Antonello was then asked about summer signings but he revealed that is not the first thing on the Inter management team’s mind.

“First we have to think about the end of the financial year, then we will think about signings for next season.”
