Joao Cancelo will not be returning to Inter nor will he be joining one of Europe’s elite, instead he is set to join newly promoted Wolverhampton Wanderers according to a report from transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio.

Cancelo’s agent, super agent Jorge Mendes has played a part in bringing many Portuguese stars to the Molineux Stadium in recent years including Ruben Neves and the full back is to be the next one on the move to the Chinese backed West Midlands club with a €40 million move on the cards as per the report.

The 23-year-old joined Inter on a season long loan with a redemption option but with Inter’s ongoing financial problems, redeeming him was all but impossible to achieve from the off. The Portuguese full back initially struggled to break in to the team but once in the team, he proved to be a vital piece in Luciano Spalletti’s side, especially in the second half of the season.
