Barcelona are refusing to lower their asking price for Rafinha and are uninterested in loaning him out again as per transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio.
The Spanish giants communicated their decision to Rafinha’s agents in a meeting today and it would seem to signal the end of Inter’s hopes for signing the Brazilian.
Rafinha joined Inter on a six month loan deal back in January with a €35 million redemption option attached however with Inter’s ongoing financial fair play problems, completing the deal seems nigh on, if not impossible. Inter had hoped they would be able to re-negotiate the current agreement – which is due to expire at the end of the month – or even manage to extend his loan for a further season.
The 25-year-old midfielder captured the hearts of the Nerazzurri faithful with his fighting spirit and obvious love for the club, that appeared clear since he arrived. Rafinha made 17 appearances over the course of his loan spell at San Siro, scoring two goals and assiting a further three.
