Lautaro Martinez has spoken to Argentine news outlet TyC Sports on his pending move to Inter this summer.

“I went to Italy with the desire to continue here [at Racing Club] for another six months but Inter has paid a lot of money for me and everything has become more difficult but I am very happy to have joined Inter.”

The 20-year-old striker has been handed the number 10 shirt famously worn by the likes of Lothar Matthaus, Adriano and more recently Wesley Sneijder at the Nerazzurri and he shared his delight at receiving this number.

“It is a beautiful thing and I am proud to have received this number.”

He concluded the interview by discussing missing out on being included in Argentina’s squad for the upcoming World Cup in Russia that kicks off in just over a week.

“I was very angry not to be on the final list,” Martinez said.
