Suning plan to expand their involvement in sport over the course of the current year according to a report from Turin based newspaper Tuttosport.

The Chinese company, who own both Inter and Chinese side Jiangsu Suning, have announced plans to expand and Suning President and owner Zhang Jindong has been quoted as saying that “2018 will be crucial for Suning’s sport sector,” by Chinese outlet zqrb.cn.

Suning purchased a controlling stake in Inter in the summer of 2016 from Indonesian businessman Erick Thohir and have since went on to secure television rights for many of Europe’s top leagues including Serie A for Chinese television.

What quite expansion Suning have in mind is currently unknown but Suning could follow in the footsteps of the City Group – who own Premier League Champions Manchester City  – and purchase even more sides across the globe to establish their brand in as many countries in the world as possible.
