Spalletti Has Chosen His Spine For Next Season’s Team

Samir Handanovic, Milan Skriniar, Marcelo Brozovic and Mauro Icardi: this is the backbone upon which Inter coach Luciano Spalletti will build his new Inter.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the club will meet the conditions of the coach and try everything they can in order to keep these key players, considered fundamental for the club.

Milan Skriniar: All offers will be rejected and for the Slovakian a new deal until 2023 is ready, increasing his salary from €1.5 million to 2.2.

Samir Handanovic: Inter has already rebuffed inquiries made by Napoli. The Slovenian is fundamental for this team. There is not even the slightest intention of hearing out any proposal on Handanovic.

Marcelo Brozovic: The infamous release clause (only valid abroad) of €50 million is still attached to the Croatian. With Financial Fair Play restrictions he could even go for a little less in order to balance the books. But no one at Inter wants to think of this, now that Brozovic has become so popular amongst the fans, and above all a determining factor for Spalletti.

Mauro Icardi: In this case both parties would like the marriage to continue. But management is aware of the fact that one of the big ones, including Joao Mario, has to be sacrificed in order to meet the requirements from UEFA and the Financial Fair Play. With that in mind it looks like they are going towards a renewal with a new deadline set at 2023, an increased salary and a new buy-out clause.

The others: At the same time, talks are going on in order to renew the contracts for Miranda (2020), Candreva (2021) and Santon (2021). Strategic moves for the budget but something that also proves the desire to create an important and historical group.
