Inter could be forced to pay up to €30 million if they wish to sign Sassuolo forward Matteo Politano this summer, according to Corriere dello Sport.

Politano scored 10 goals and made five assists for the Neroverdi as they secured their second-highest ever finish in Serie A during the 2017-18 season, and is rumoured to be one of Piero Ausilio’s primary transfer targets as he looks to sign a new right-sided forward for Luciano Spalletti.

However the 24 year-old will not come cheaply as Sassuolo owner Giorgio Squinzi is thought to want even more than the €28 million he was offered by Napoli on the final day of the January transfer window.

Inter and Sassuolo made contact with each other during last weekend’s Primavera Scudetto Final, held at Sassuolo’s Mapei Stadium, and have agreed to meet again later this week to start talks over Politano, with the player anxious to sort out his future as quickly as possible.

Should the Italian ultimately make the move to San Siro then it is likely that either Antonio Candreva or Yann Karamoh will leave the club, with the former Lazio player’s agent Federico Pastorello having received enquiries from a couple of Premier League clubs.

Inter would ask for at least €12 million to part company with Candreva as they would like to make a profit on the player, who could extend his contract this summer to prevent his financial value from depreciating too far.

Should Candreva remain at the club then Karamoh could leave on loan during the final few weeks of the window.
