Lille midfielder Thiago Mendes is attracting interests from some of Europe’s top clubs. The Brazilian impressed in Ligue 1 last season and it seems it hasn’t gone unnoticed.
French sports site Le 10 Sport reports that as well as Inter, the German side FC Schalke 04 are also interested in the 26 year old Brazilian. They believe that Schalke have now actually tabled a bid of €16 million to Lille. The former Sao Paulo midfielder has been on Inter’s radar for some time now after having made an initial approach in February of this year to acquire the signature of Mendes.
With interest now high, Inter are looking to make contact with the Ligue 1 side again to see what the margins would be for a possible deal to happen. Thiago Henrique Mendes Ribeiro, to give his full name, only arrived at Lille from Sao Paulo last summer but after having impressed over the season scoring 3 goals in 17 appearances, it would seem that another summer move may be on the cards.
