Milan city mayor Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Sala has revealed he continues to hope Inter and Milan can strike an agreement over the future of the San Siro stadium.

“I am a fan of the San Siro stadium and I continue to hope that Inter and Milan will reach an agreement but it is a delicate time for the two teams and I decided not to push for a final decision on the stadium,” Sala told Il Giorno.

While Inter’s owner’s Suning have made it evidently clear that they wish to redevelop the club’s currently shared home, Milan’s owners remain undecided about whether they wish to remain or look to go it alone and build a stadium of their own elsewhere in the city.

The Rossoneri have been tenants of the stadium since it’s opening almost a century ago back in 1926 while the Nerazzurri have been join tenants of the 80,018 capacity ground since 1947.
