Despite Milan Skriniar being close to signing a new and improved contract with Inter, Gazzetta dello Sport report that this does not mean Inter would be closing the door to selling him this summer if an offer of at least €80 million arrived.

The Nerazzurri, who are still relying heavily on Skriniar, who has been linked with Manchester United among others, to build their defence around, have already identified their targets in the event that he departs the club.

Tottenham Hotspur defender Toby Alderweireld is the first idea to replace Skriniar. The 29-year-old has been with Spurs for three years and has just a year left to run on his current contract with the north London club.

The second idea is Kostas Manolas, who Inter have been heavily linked with in the past. The Greek defender has a €37 million release clause in his contract with Roma but has also drawn interest from Chelsea. The fact that Inter manager Luciano Spalletti has worked with Manolas before could well work in the Nerazzurri’s favour.
