Following his transfer to Inter which was confirmed in the past few hours, Radja Nainggolan has held his first interview as an Inter player with InterTV.
“I didn’t expect such a warm welcome. The affection of the fans is important for any player, it means there’s enthusiasm. I am too, and I hope we can achieve great things. I still don’t know the fans too well, but given how they welcomed me I hope we can have a really great season and do well in the Champions League too. Inter have to return to being important in Europe.”
Moving to Milan will also see the Belgian re-united with former coach Luciano Spalletti, who he worked with at Roma.
“Luciano Spalletti? My best season was with him, I hope I can repeat it. I’m at his disposal and I’m happy to work with him again. It’s important to feel the trust of the boss and [Vice-President Javier] Zanetti. They made me feel important, something I had lost at Roma. My choice was simple, even if you can’t forget the past. I’m happy and fired-up for this new adventure.”
