Inter’s increased activity surrounding William Carvalho does not mean that the Nerazzurri have ended their interest in Mousa Dembele according to a report from Tuttosport.
Inter are going ahead with both negotiations concurrently and will sign the player who they can get strike the most favourable deal for.
Spurs are wanting €30 million for Dembele but Inter, aware of the fact he has just a year left on his contract, do not wish to pay this and could offer Joao Mario or Yann Karamoh in return.
As for Carvalho, his situation is currently unclear as he is having an ongoing contract dispute with current employers Sporting Lisbon. Carvalho is one of many players to have threatened to cancel their contract with the club in wake of an incident at their training ground where they were attacked by the club’s ultras. He could arrive for free but with Sporting currently seeking legal advice in a bid to enforce the contracts, any club who signs a player for ‘free’ could face problems further a long the line. Other reports in the media have however suggested Inter could offer around €10 million for the 26-year-old.
The Turin based newspaper however go on to report that if Matias Vecino departs the club for Chelsea as rumoured, both Dembele and Carvalho could join the Nerazzurri ahead of the new season.
