Inter centre-back Miranda has praised the club’s summer transfer campaign and believes Luciano Spalletti’s side could fight for the Scudetto in Serie A next season.
Miranda has made 101 appearances in all competitions for the Nerazzurri since joining from Atletico Madrid in 2015 and was a key part of the side that secured a return to the UEFA Champions League after six seasons of continental exile, which has since made five signings in little over a month.
Stefan De Vrij, Kwadwo Asamoah, Lautaro Martinez, Radja Nainggolan and Matteo Politano are all set to begin pre-season training with their new team-mates on 9 July, and the Brazilian – who is currently taking part in the FIFA World Cup in Russia – believes the club’s recruitment campaign could make them serious title contenders for the 2018-19 campaign.
“Brazil are growing into this World Cup just like Inter are growing [this summer],” he told reporters on Thursday. “The club have signed quality players such as Nainggiolan, Asamoah and De Vrij. I’m happy for Radja, he’ll definitely do well.
“I haven’t spoken to Spalletti this summer but he’s busy working to turn Inter into a great team, just like I’m working to play a great World Cup. I think Inter could compete to win the Scudetto next season.”
