Third choice goalkeeper Tommaso Berni has extended his contract with Inter until the end of June 2019 the Nerazzurri report via a statement on their official homepage.

The 35 year-old’s contract was set to expire at the end if this month but he has now agreed terms to extend the deal by twelve months with the Nerazzurri. Berni joined Inter from Torino ahead of the 2014/2015 Serie A season but is yet to make his Inter debut in a competitive match, mostly acting third choice keeper behind first choice keeper Samir Handanovic as well as second keepers Luca Castellazzi and since last season, Daniele Padelli.

The statement in it’s entirety on Inter’s homepage reads: “FC Internazionale Milano can confirm that Tommaso Berni has renewed his contract until June 30th, 2019. The 35-year-old goalkeeper, who joined the Nerazzurri in the summer of 2014, will now start his fifth season with the club as of July 9th.”
