Inter target Nico Gonalez has commented on the Nerazzurri’s interest in him and comparisons to Paris Saint Germain winger Angel Di Maria.

“There is still nothing concrete and I do not want to hurry anyone, but it’s obvious that I would love to play in Italy, it would be really nice. It is one of my childhood dreams to play in a top league in Europe, and Inter is another dream in itself. I get goosebumps when I imagine myself wearing the Inter shirt,” Gonzalez revealed in an interview with TuttoMercatoWeb.

It has been rumoured in the press that Inter are working alongside Cagliari to land Gonzalez and the young forward is expected to play for the Sardinian club first.

“It [Sardinia] is beautiful place, but let’s see what happens first, I am very calm and I do not yet know where I will play.”

The 20-year-old concluded by discussing what kind of player he is and addressed the Angel Di Maria comparisons.

“Many people tell me that I am like Angel Di Maria. I’ve always admired his qualities and am inspired by his play, I played many years on the wing, but lately I have played as a striker. Even then, he remains one of my idols.”
