Inter remain strongly interested in Manchester United right-back Matteo Darmian and could make a move for the Italian should they fail in their attempts to bring Roma’s Alessandro Florenzi to San Siro, according to Sky Sport.
Darmian has made 82 appearances in all competitions for the Red Devils since joining the club from Torino in 2015, but is expected to return to Italy this summer after struggling for game-time during the 2017-18 season.
Sky Sport believe that Inter are one of the clubs interested in bringing the 28 year-old back to Serie A, as they look to sign a replacement for Joao Cancelo, who completed a €38 million move from Valencia to Juventus last week after Inter opted not to exercise their option to buy for the player.
Luciano Spalletti’s primary target is thought to still be Roma’s Alessandro Florenzi, who is out of contract next summer and still has not reached an agreement with the Giallorossi regarding an extebsion, but Darmian is a viable alternative should Inter not succeed in their mission to prize him away from the capital.
Juventus are also said to be interested in Darmian, having followed him closely throughout the last few months.
