Recently departed Yuto Nagatomo paid tribute to the Inter fans for their support during his spell with the club and tipped Inter to win the scudetto this coming season.
“I want to thank all the Inter fans who have supported me so much. It has been eight spectacular years for me, I wanted to win the scudetto but I did not manage to do it, but now Inter is strong, they will play in the Champions League next season and in my eyes, they will win the Serie A,” the Japanese defender told Mediaset, wbo interviewed him following his national team’s exit from the World Cup last night after a 3-2 defeat to Belgium.
The 31-year-old, who has joined Galatasaray on a permanent basis, then reflected on Japan’s World Cup campaign.
“We have grown as a team, but we are still lacking on the physical level. I fancy Brazil to win it,” he concluded.
