West Ham United are the latest club to have joined the race to sign La Spezia youngster Samuele Mulattieri according to a report from Tutto Mercato Web.

The 17-year-old attacking midfielder has yet to sign a professional contract with the Italian club and it would therefore take a compensation package rather than a traditional transfer fee per se to take him away from the Serie B outfit, who regard him as one of their top prospects currently. Tutto Mercato Web believe that the compensation required is below the €450,000 mark and warn interested parties that in six months time when he is eligible to then sign a professional deal that his price could be at least six times that.

Inter, Juventus and West Ham’s Premier League rivals Everton are all also understood to be keen on signing the Italian youth international, who has already got three first team appearances to his name.
