Real Betis are the latest side to have entered the race to sign Sporting Lisbon midfielder William Carvalho according to reports coming out of Portugal.
The Portuguese international, has also drawn interest from Inter and many other European clubs due to his current contract situation at Sporting Lisbon, is understood to be subject to a €20 million offer from the Spanish club as per Portuguese news outlet Record.
Record warn that while Carvalho could technically sign for a club for free once he rescinds his contract, the risk of Sporting taking any club to sign him for free is high hence why Betis are willing to negate that risk by paying €20 million for the 26-year-old.
Carvalho captained Sporting for much of his 38 appearances across all competitions last term and was part of the Portugual squad eliminated in the last 16 of the World Cup in recent weeks, where he played in all four of their games.
