The arrival of Stefan de Vrij has elevated Inter’s defence to being the tallest across the league on average, Tuttosport detail.

The 6ft 1″ defender, who has arrived on a free transfer following the expiration of his contract with fellow Serie A side Lazio, is widely expected to partner Milan Skriniar, who is the same height, at the heart of the Inter defence this coming season.

Not only does de Vrij’s arrival at San Siro add height to Inter’s backline but more goals also. Last season the 25-year-old Dutchman found the back of the net on six occasions, two more than Inter’s leading defensive scorer last season in Skriniar, who got four.
