Inter are closing in on the signing of Spezia academy talent Samuele Mulattieri after putting daylight between themselves and fellow suitors Juventus and Everton, according to Tuttosport.

Mulattieri, 17, scored 13 goals for the Aquilotti’s Primavera side during the 2017-18 season and made three substitute appearances for their first team in Serie B, scoring his first senior goal in the 3-2 defeat to Pescara on 22 April.

He has also made five appearances for Italy’s under-18 side since being awarded his debut in February, scoring one goal against the Netherlands in March.

Tuttosport report that Inter are now in pole position to secure Mulattieri’s services for the following season, as they look to reinforce their youth team after appointing Armando Madonna to replace Stefano Vecchi as head coach.

Juventus and Everton are also interested in signing the attacking midfielder, but they have been overtaken by the Nerazzurri during the last few days. It remains to be seen if either will step up their pursuit.
