Former Inter manager Marcello Lippi has backed Inter to be more competitive in the Serie A title race this coming season following the handful of signings already made by the Nerazzurri this transfer window.

“Inter have had a fantastic shopping campaign in every area and have the possibility of playing with multiple systems. It is a complete squad who will be much more competitive,” the 70-year-old, who managed Inter for the 1999/2000 season said in an interview with Milan based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

Lippi also weighed in on the Il Fenomeno Ronaldo-Kylian Mbappe debate that has emerged since Mbappe’s star performance against Argentina at the World Cup wherein he scored twice in a 4-2 victory.

“He looks like him. He runs at that extraordinary speed with the ball at his feet. He has incredible quality and – let us not forget a strong team around him from Antoine Griezmann to Paul Pogba.”
