Inter legend Lothar Matthaus does not believe Serie A needs Cristiano Ronaldo to move to Juventus to raise the level of Serie A to what it was during his time with the Nerazzurri due to the return of Inter.
I do not think there is a need for Cristiano Ronaldo to arrive to raise the level. Juve is a great team but is no longer alone, Roma and Napoli are there and even Inter is coming back. In another couple of years Italian football will again be where it belongs. The Premier League and La Liga are and still will remain important despite this,” the German midfield favourite revealed in an interview with La Stampa.
Mattahaus spent four years on the books at San Siro between 1988 and 1992. In that time he made over 100 appearances and won one Serie A title, a Supercoppa and was also part of the 1990/91 UEFA Cup winning squad.
