Mauro Icardi’s contract renewal talks are on hold until after his €110 million release clause – valid only for foreign clubs – expires in a few days time Corriere della Sera report.
Initial talks have taken place but been disrupted by Icardi holidaying during the off-season and Inter focusing on new signings as well as making lots of sales for financial fair play purposes.
Icardi is expected to receive a raise and will comfortably remain as the club’s highest earner and the release clause is expected to either be raised significantly to deter interest or removed entirely to give the Nerazzurri complete control when interested club’s knock on the door and ask for him.
Corriere della Sera also go on to report that Inter have knocked back several offers for star defender Milan Skriniar and will likely have to reject many more with the Slovakian asserting himself as not only one of the best defenders in Serie A or Europe but the entire world in his debut season with Inter last term.
