Speaking to calciomercato.it, former Juventus and Italy defender Alessio Tacchinardi analyses what may be the effect of the arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo at Juventus on the Serie A.
Tacchinardi began by hailing Ronaldo’s arrival stating that: “He certainly gives a new image to our football. Suddenly the eyes from around the world will be on our league. To attract a player like this, you need to spend some money. Cristiano can change Serie A to the point that, in the future, we will become accustomed to spending big money on star players to attract them to Italy.
“Unfortunately, Italian clubs cannot compete in the current market. Perhaps Inter are the only side which could also spend big in the near future. They have done well to build up a stable of quality young players which can be sold for profit.”
Speaking about the Nerazzurri, Tacchinardi has identified them as the main rival of Juventus this season. “It seems to me that this team is better equipped to compete in every department, and they could be the ones to undermine the Juventus domination.”
