Former Sassuolo manager Giuseppe Iachini spoke to TuttoMercatoWeb about Inter’s new signing, Matteo Politano, who he managed at Sassuolo last season.

“Inter have made a great signing in Matteo Politano. He can play in many different positions and cover a number of roles for the team. For the style of play that Spalletti looks to be setting up for his Inter team, I believe that he can be adaptable on many fronts.”

Politano joins Inter this summer off the back of an impressive season under the management of Iachini at Sassuolo last season. Napoli had a deal in place to sign the former Roma youth team player in January but the player and club ultimately decided that it was best for him to stay at Sassuolo for the remainder of the season so that he could play with more continuity and consistency. The decision proved to be the right one as Politano went on to earn an International call up in the post season friendlies under new national team manager, Roberto Mancini.
