Davide Santon has been interviewed by RomaTV following his recent transfer from the Nerazzurri:
“The team has welcomed me well, they’re all good guys. We’re working hard, it’s hot but the training camp is all about these conditions – it’s tough, but these are things that will help us prepare for the year ahead.”
How are you getting on with Di Francesco’s style of play?
“You have to get used to everything, the mechanisms are very precise. Every coach asks for different things but I’m trying to understand what Di Francesco wants, we worked with the defence, I’m trying to understand. ”
What’s your personal goal for this season?
“I want to go back and show what I’ve done in the past, it’s a new challenge, I have to prove myself. Roma is a dream for me, it’s a team aiming for the top. We have to stay at the top of the league, hoping to win things if possible.”
You’ve always been under intense pressure in your career.
“Everyone has always been expecting a lot of me, so when things don’t go well it’s difficult. You think about many things, there’s pressure, injuries and bad matches, but everything happens for a reason. I still have a lot to give and I hope to give it with this shirt.”
