Several reports in Italy suggest that Inter are closing in on Bayern Munich’s Arturo Vidal to reinforce the midfield ahead of next season but Sky Sport Italia suggest that the former Juventus man is not the only player on that list.

According to SportItalia, Bayern Munich have accepted the possibility of allowing Vidal to leave the club to go to Inter. Vidal would first need to sign a contract extension with Bayern tying him to the club until the end of June 2020, before sending him out on a season long loan to Inter who will have an option to make the transfer permanent at a fixed price. According to the report the two clubs are finalizing the last details before Vidal signs for Inter in a deal that could be worth around €30 million.

Vidal’s arrival does not depend on Inter being able to sell Joao Mario, at least according to Sky Sport Italia who report further that the former Juventus midfielder is not the only player on Inter’s list of midfield reinforcements. In fact, Inter are working on signing Cagliari’s Niccolo Barella but this deal will be trickier as here the Nerazzurri will face competition from Roma.

SportItalia report that Inter could end up signing both Vidal and Barella but in order to sign both players Joao Mario must be sold first. So far no offers have arrived for the player that the Nerazzurri directors deem satisfactory.

Developments are expected to occur over the coming few days.
