It is hardly a secret that Inter and Portuguese international midfielder Joao Mario want to part ways during this transfer window, but it is proving surprisingly difficult to find a club that suits the demands of both parties.

In recent days La Liga side Real Betis have widely been linked with the former Sporting player and the club’s Vice-President, Lorenzo Serra Ferrer, did not try to quash these rumors during a press conference held earlier today.

When asked about Betis’ interest in Joao Mario Ferrer replied: “Speaking about players that do not belong to Betis is a complicated matter. He belongs to Inter and the situation is difficult, but is is clear that we are interested in good players. However, deals of this nature are generally very difficult.”‘

Joao Mario joined Inter in the summer of 2016 for a reported fee of €40 million after having helped his Portugal win the European Championships and has since featured 47 times across all competitions only scoring thrice in the process.
