The Croatian contingiency at Inter will soon increase by one player when Sime Vrsaljko finalizes his transfer from Atletico Madrid and joins the Nerazzurri.

All the details regarding the deal was agreed yesterday as reported and the player is on his way to Milano’s Malpensa airport, Italian media outlet SportItalia reports. According to the report, Vrsaljko will land at 23.00 CET (local time) where he will be met by representatives from Inter as he prepares to embark his new adventure with the Nerazzurri.

Yesterday Inter and La Liga outfit Atletico Madrid have agreed terms over the former Sassuolo player. According to the report Inter will loan the player for €6,5 million for one year after which point the Nerazzurri will have the option to sign the player on a permanent basis for a further €17,5 million.

Vrsaljko is no stranger to the Serie A having already spent 3 seasons in Italy, one with Genoa and two with Sassuolo, before joining Atletico Madrid ahead of the 2015/2016 season.

Vrsaljko had an excellent World Cup with compatriots Ivan Perisic and Marcelo Brozovic who together helped Croatia reach the final where they lost 4-2 against France.
