Inter target Luka Modric will meet with Real Madrid president Florentino Perez next week to discuss his future at the club, according to Corriere della Sera.

Modric has become sporting director Piero Ausilio’s number one transfer target in midfield after being contacted by the player’s agent about a potential move, with the Milanese publication describing the Nerazzurri’s pursuit of the the 32 year-old as ‘a fascinating and dangerous dream’.

The Croatian is due to meet with Los Blancos on 8 August to discuss his future in Madrid, which is described by the paper as ‘proof’ that he is not unsellable, after encouraging his agent Vlado Lemic to get in touch with Inter and sound out a possible deal.

Modric currently has two years left on his contract in Spain and earns over €10 million per season in wages, with a potential price tag of €50-60 million. However despite the high costs of a potential deal Ausilio is determined to try and bring the World Cup runner-up to Italy, albeit he intends to work in top secret without getting the fans’ hopes up too much.
